Sharon Lytton

Hello!  I am Sharon Lytton and I am the teacher assistant for Mrs. Valerie Lovette in Kindergarten.  This is my 17th year at Millers Creek Elementary School.  I love working at the Creek and I love how we are a family here!  I enjoy seeing students achieve their goals and accomplish their goals here at the Creek.  I love how much the Kindergarten students learn over the course of a school year and they are amazed how much they have grown.

I have been married to my husband David for 35 years.  I have two daughters, Kara and Amanda.  My youngest Amanda recently was married this summer, and Kara my oldest recently had my third grandchild also.  My grandson's names are Zachary, Benjamin and most recently, Jaxson.

And by the way, I am a "HUGE" Carolina Panther fan.  My husband and I try to go to every game that we can.  We were lucky enough to be able to go to the Super Bowl this year.  We had a great time even though they lost....Boooo!

I look forward to this upcoming school year at the Creek!

Carol Huffman

Hello!  I am Carol Huffman, the teacher of the most fun class at MCES....MUSIC!!!  This is my 7th year at MCES.  I have taught music for 16 years, at all levels from K to college, and am a National Board Certified Teacher. I graduated  from Appalachian State University in '99 with a degree in Music Education with concentrations in Choral Music and Sacred Music.  I  returned to ASU to work on my Masters Degree in Music Education which I finished in '08.  I love all kinds of music, of course, but my favorite group is U2!  I love keeping up with the new popular music. But when I need to refresh my soul, nothing beats the great choral masterworks, especially the spirituals!

I am married to another teacher, Brian Huffman, who teaches ELA at WWMS.  We have two wonderful boys.  Ben is 13 and in the 8th grade.  He is on the football and baseball teams at WWMS. Caleb is 9 and in the 4th grade here at MCES.  We also have two dogs.  Sparks is a Brittany Spaniel. Buddy is a Yorkie we just adopted last week.  Sparks doesn't quite know what to think of Buddy, yet. We're working on it!

I am looking forward to great year in music!  A goal that I have for the music program is to create a chorus for 4th-5th grade students.  We had a choir camp this summer that went very well.  I hope we can continue to build on the accomplishments this group started.

I look forward to meeting YOU!

Kimberly Parsons

Greetings MCES family!  My name is Kimberly Parsons and I am the instructional specialist at MCES.  Prior to becoming an instructional specialist four years ago, I served as a classroom teacher for 18 years.  I taught mostly grades 4 and 5.  I started my career at Ronda Clingman Elementary for three years followed by 15 years at Mt. Pleasant Elementary.  In my opinion, this is one of the greatest, most rewarding professions.  I love teaching children and now working along side teachers.  What a blessing that we get to "make a difference" every day!  My family is amazing.  I have been married to my sweet husband, Chris, for 25 years.  We have two precious daughters, Haley, 18 and Kinsley, 16.  They are the light of my life.  I am a family loving gal, so most of my time is spent with them.  We love watching movies, eating out at fun places and traveling to the beach.  I am looking forward to a wonderful year at MCES!

Mr. Robertson - Second Grade

My name is Shane Robertson and I am a second grade teacher at Millers Creek Elementary.  I am beginning my 17th (!!!!) year of teaching.
I could not imagine any other job I could enjoy doing more than teaching.  It definitely has its challenges.  But, meeting and overcoming those challenges (both the students and myself) is what makes this job AMAZING!!
My wife, Christy, and I have a "blended" family with five outstanding children.  They are involved in piano, basketball, football, volleyball, soccer and track.  We stay busy!!  Nothing is more important than our family and spending our time with them enjoying every minute (well....I'm sure the kids would say not EVERY minute).
